Kobe Bryant is the leading vote getter at the first return of NBA All-Star Game voting
When Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant announced his impending retirement at the end of this season, it was never really in doubt that he was going to make it into the NBA All-Star Game. It’s almost a rite of passage for legends on their way out to get voted in as a starter one last time.
In addition, Kobe has also almost always been voted in without it being his last season in the NBA. Even in recent years when he hasn’t been healthy, his global fan-base has voted him as a starter in the All-Star Game.
The first return in All-Star voting was released on Christmas Day and, as you would expect, Kobe is the leading vote getter and by a wide margin:
Kobe’s 719,235 votes are over 200,000 more than the next highest vote getters in Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry. The Lakers and Kobe fans are coming out in droves and trying to get the legend one last run in the All-Star Game.

Considering how Kobe has played as of late, seeing him in his final NBA All-Star Game is going to be a blast. He can still put on a show and he’ll have the chance to do so against the matador defense of the All-Star Game. We’ll all undoubtedly look forward to that.
