Nike set to release new Kobe XI “The Last Emperor” sneaker later this week
Staying true to its gradient design, the latest Kobe XI sneaker, set to drop on February 4th, features a clean black and white upper, with red accents, that any hooper could appreciate.
Appropriately nicknamed, “The Last Emperor,” the shoe attempts to pay homage to Kobe’s deep Chinese roots and the fact that he is the last man standing from the 1996 draft class. Further, the releasing of the shoe nearly coincides with the approaching Chinese New Year.
Per Nike.com,
"This monochrome collection is a celebration of Kobe, past and present, and a look at the transition ahead. Meticulous graphics and details honor his legacy: an off-the-charts career of championships, All-Star accolades and MVP honors that will inspire future heroes for generations to come. Available February 4 on Nike.com (10am EST/7am PST)."

Unless I’m missing something, the “meticulous graphics and details,” don’t really pop out, it actually looks rather basic, but that doesn’t take away from the shoe’s minimalist appeal.
In a season that’s been down right depressing at times, at least Lakers fans are being rewarded with excellent products off court to help distract them from the on court onslaughts.
With rumors of a Jordan Brand, Kobe Bryant themed pack set to release sometime this month, expect February to be a great month for sneaker enthusiasts.
