Kobe Bryant has been giving shoes to opponents, but this time he was the recipient of an epic sneaker collection
Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant have shared a special relationship since the Black Mamba entered the league in 1996.
With rumors of a Jordan Brand, Kobe Bryant pack swirling the interwebs, Friday night Michael Jordan added fuel to that fire with a special retirement gift to Bean.
At his birthday party in Toronto, Jordan gifted Kobe all 30 of his sneakers in pure white, with the exception of two shoes in Lakers’ colors.
Per Nike,
"With this custom in mind, the Jordan Brand honored Kobe Bryant and his career in a way that only the legendary brand could do. At a ceremony tonight in Toronto, it presented the player with a one-of-a-kind gift: a full set of the Air Jordan line (I through XXX) in brilliant white. The set was highlighted by the Air Jordan III and Air Jordan VIII, which Bryant wore during the 2002-03 season, in the white, purple and gold colors that have defined Bryant’s career."
Additionally,
"When Jordan Brand President Larry Miller presented the gift to Bryant, it was accompanied by an alternate full set of the Air Jordan line in black. Again, the brand paid tribute to the two shoes Bryant wore during his career and popped the AJ III and AJ VIII with purple and gold."
