Lakers: Kobe Bryant Hilariously Denies Fan’s Hug Attempt
By Eric Yee
Note to fans: Kobe Bryant does not want your hugs
During his retirement tour, Kobe Bryant has had his fair share of smiles, laughs and even hugs, but apparently fans don’t make the cut.
After being taken out in the closing of Wednesday night’s 128-119 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, which just so happened to be the Lakers’ seventh straight loss, a fan sitting court side attempted to hug the Black Mamba, but he was not having it.
Walking past his teammates to towards the end of the bench, soaking in the applause, Kobe managed to high five all of his teammates and even some fans sitting in the second row.
However, when a fan sitting court side attempted to hug him, he seemed to mumble something under his breath then proceed to ignore her.

While it is reaching to assume, who knows maybe the lady was heckling Kobe all game? Maybe Kobe is like the rest of us and simply doesn’t feel comfortable hugging a complete stranger. Maybe he really just didn’t see her.
Regardless of the reason, it made for hilarious television and will make for an even better meme in the coming days.
It’s still unsure exactly what Kobe said to the fan under his breath, though I’m sure he will be asked about it in the coming days, but for now, I’m just going to imagine he mumbled, “You’re welcome.”
