Full highlights and more from Kobe Bryant’s last game, Lakers vs. Jazz

Kobe Bryant is hero to thousands of Los Angeles Lakers fans. As his farewell tour wore on throughout the 2015-16 season, though, there was always the question whether or not this legend, this hero had one last heroic performance left in the tank. As he played his last game of his 20-year career on Wednesday night against the Utah Jazz, though, he proved that he had one more left in the tank and he saved it for the perfect moment.

Obviously Kobe Bryant was going to be chucking all night in his final game of his NBA career, but no one could have predicted the drama that would be attached. He got hot a couple of times early in the game and, in the first quarter, reeled off double-digit points in just a couple of minutes and had already eclipsed 20 points at halftime. Fans were hoping he would have the same fire in the second half and would get 40 points one last time.

He was going for much more than 40 points, though.

Showing the lack of conscious and will that made him an all-time great over his time in the league, Kobe Bryant wouldn’t be deterred in the second half as he played almost all of the final 24 minutes. He knocked down shots, but then decided that it was time for the theatrics to finish off his career.

Trailing by just a few in the fourth quarter, Kobe finally got hot and just started chucking again—but he caught fire. And he didn’t cool off as he hit three after three and layup after layup to fight back and ultimately take the lead. As he knocked down two free throws, he finished the night with 60 points and walked off the court a winner and hero.
