Sophomores, Larry Nance Jr and Anthony Brown, are the latest Lakers to begin their offseason training early

Headlined by Julius Randle‘s declaration of wanting to become “great” this offseason, followed by Jordan Clarkson’s early training videos on Instagram and Snapchat, then D’Angelo Russell‘s revelation that he would be working with Magic Johnson this offseason, the work ethic of the young Lakers was something of legend.

Now, just a few days removed from Russell’s exciting announcement, sophomores, Larry Nance Jr and Anthony Brown, have joined in on the early offseason frenzy.

Nance Jr. didn’t post a picture, but took to Twitter to reveal that he and Brown were already back in the weight room and gym working to get better.

New head coach, Luke Walton, had high praise for the young Lakers and it turns out that it is all warranted based on their devotion to getting better.

Specifically in regards to Nance, according to Mike Bresnahan, Walton said, “You’re going to have superstars that end up on SportsCenter every night but you need guys doing the little things,” and the “little things” are exactly what Nance excels at.

Anthony Brown is another interesting piece of the Los Angeles Lakers’ young core, as fans hope that he will become the 3-and-D player they have all been patiently waiting for.

While the other three core players — Randle, Clarkson and Russell — all seem to be working out individually, it is nice to see Brown and Nance Jr sticking together, hopefully building more chemistry along the way.

Similar to Russell, it would be great if the pair of Brown and Nance consulted some of the Lakers’ greats to help them this offseason — James Worthy comes directly to mind.

Regardless, it is nice to see this young group getting in their work early for what will hopefully be a turnaround season for the Purple and Gold.
