Vanderbilt. Damian Jones. 21. player. 125. Though the Atlanta Hawks agains advanced past the first round in the Eastern Conference Playoffs, they still look like they are well away from actually competing in the East. That’s something that could be even more so the case this offseason as one of their most integral cogs in Al Horford hits the open market in free agency.
Subsequently, the play for the Hawks in the draft should likely be for them to select another big man to have play in their frontcourt and Damian Jones out of Vanderbilt is a great high-upside option. Though he has many things to prove after an odd stay in college, he could be great and would be a great addition regardless.
. C

Maryland. Diamond Stone. 22. player. 170. Much like the Hawks, the Charlotte Hornets are likely going to need some work in their frontcourt due to departing free agents as that’s really a plague for the Hornets this offseason. However, one of the most intriguing big men available in the 2016 NBA Draft is center Diamond Stone out of Maryland. Though he was inconsistent throughout his freshman season, he showcased a plethora of skills throughout and could be a guy that will thrive at the next level with the right tutelage and coaching that Charlotte can survive..
