SF. Duke. Brandon Ingram. 1. player. 93. If there’s been one thing that’s been maddeningly inconsistent and hard to predict in the 2016 NBA Draft and really in the NBA over the past few years, it’s been what in the hell the Philadelphia 76ers are going to do. With the departure of Sam Hinkie from the front office, though, that actually makes it even more difficult to figure out what the Sixers are going to do.
So while I still think that Ben Simmons is still the best and most sure thing in this draft, I’m switching up the No. 1 overall pick in version 2.0 of our NBA Mock Draft and giving Brandon Ingram out of Duke to the 76ers. That seems to be becoming an increasingly likely possibility and one that might actually make sense.

Though the 76ers have obviously been shaky in regards to their drafts in recent years, there’s no denying the fact that they have a breadth of talent on their roster in the frontcourt with the likes of Nerlens Noel, Jahlil Okafor, and even Joel Embiid (if he’s ever going to play in the NBA). As such adding a player like Ingram that’s able to play more effectively on the perimeter as opposed to Simmons might actually make substantially more sense for the Sixers as they continue to rebuld.
