International. Juan Hernangomez. 29. player. 29. We all know that the San Antonio Spurs have a propensity for drafting European prospects and ultimately making them into high quality contributors in their system. When you look at a player like Juan Hernangomez and what he’s capable of right now, you have to at least halfway connect him to the Spurs. As such, I’m just going to go the whole way at the end of the first round and give him to San Antonio.
Obviously the Spurs don’t have many immediate needs to where they would look at players who can contribute right now (though they might because the Spurs are essentially the NBA’s version of the Illuminati). However, it seems more likely that they go after a player with upside like Hernangomez that they can afford to stash overseas and either have as a movable asset or someone to bring over down the line.
. 30. player. 41. The Golden State Warriors are in a position this offseason where they could very well lose one of their key contributors to free agency in the form of Harrison Barnes. Though Barnes is a restricted free agent, he’s going to get a load of money thrown his way. As such, the Warriors should be looking at potential fill-ins and replacements on the wing and DeAndre Bembry out of Saint Joseph’s could be that guy.
Bembry showed throughout his time with the Hawks that he’s more than capable of getting the job done on both ends of the floor as he’s a solid athlete with a ton of skill. Seeing a composed leader with a versatile skill set operating in the Warriors system is highly enticing and something that Bembery would bring to the table.
. SF. St. Joe’s. DeAndre Bembry
