The wait is finally over, the Los Angeles Lakers have kept their 2016 draft pick. Here is Twitter’s take on the NBA Draft Lottery

Coming into the 2016 NBA draft lottery, the Los Angeles Lakers were in a relatively unfamiliar place. Yes, the team has had a chance at getting a lottery pick for the past three years, but prior to that the Purple and Gold made the Playoffs eighteen of the past twenty seasons, meaning the team only had their own lottery pick two times between 1993 and 2013.

If you follow basketball even a just tiny amount, you are well aware that the Lakers, just like the Boston Celtics, are all about winning, in all assets of the word.

That’s why when the Lakers once again, defied the odds, metaphorically speaking, Twitter reacted exactly how you thought they would. Sure, there was a fair share of fans who breathed a sigh of relief and others who hated on the Lakers and the NBA for rigging the draft, but the diehards reacted, for lack of a better word, expectedly.

Here are some of the best Tweets from before, during and directly after the 2016 NBA Draft Lottery results:

As a personal who generally likes to read about conspiracy theories and what not, the idea that the NBA rigged the draft for the Purple and Gold doesn’t seem that far fetched, especially seeing how the New Orleans Pelicans managed to get Anthony Davis and the Chicago Bulls drafted hometown hero, Derrick Rose.

That said, regardless of how it happened, I am just ecstatic that it did just like the rest of Lakers’ Twitter.

Lakers fans can now fully switch their attention to hoping that somehow the Oklahoma City Thunder lose to the Golden State Warriors causing Kevin Durant to jet to Los Angeles, followed only by the Cleveland Cavaliers defeating the Dubs in the Finals, allowing LeBron James to have peace of mind and freedom to also come to the Lakers. Please God, please.
