For months, fans have been waiting patiently to see where their team will end up drafting, but wait no longer, May 17 and the 2016 NBA Draft Lottery are finally here.
Tuesday represents the day where a multitude of questions will finally be answered.
Among various others:
- Will the Los Angeles Lakers keep their 2016 top three protected draft pick and begin their ascent back to the Promised Land?
- Will the Philadelphia 76ers tank job finally pay off landing them first overall pick and likely Ben Simmons?
- Will the Minnesota Timberwolves pull off the unthinkable and get yet another shot to add a top five pick to their already scary core?
In specific regards to the Lakers, Tuesday has the possibility of representing a day of misfortune and pessimism for years to come or a day of hope that brings promise of a better tomorrow.

There have been arguments made that losing the pick wouldn’t be the absolute worst thing that could happen to the team, but for now we’ll keep those thoughts far from mind.
Another interesting situation to watch will be the Boston Celtics who currently have a boatload of picks incoming, eight according to Draft Express, including the Brooklyn Nets’ first round pick which they got in the Kevin Garnett–Paul Pierce trade.
That said, what they end up doing with the surplus of picks could dominate draft news come June 23.
