Not to be negative right off of the bat, but if Skal Labissiere goes into the wrong situation in the 2016 NBA Draft, things are going to go quite poorly for him at the pro level. Yes, he has a ton of things that you have to like about his game, his frame, and everything in between. That being said, I think that the Milwaukee Bucks could be that right situation for the young big man out of Kentucky.

Coming into his freshman season for the Wildcats, Labissiere was thought to potentially be the best NBA prospect in all of college hoops. However, he showed almost immediately that he wasn’t ready for that in any way, getting bullied by bigger frontcourt players and not having as much skill as advertised. That said, he improved noticeably as the year went on and showed that he’s a big man with range to step out and score and length to make plays on both ends of the floor.

However, the Bucks make sense because Skal needs to be developed and needs to be putting on weight. As such, they can put him behind their already thick frontcourt and let him develop until he’s ready to go and contribute. It’s a good fit where he can go pro, but still get the tutelage he needs.
