The Los Angeles Lakers arguably earned their biggest “win” of the season snagging the number two overall pick but the question still remains, who should they take?

Despite a horrible season that saw the team win a mere 17 games, the Los Angeles Lakers are now heading into the draft with a ton of positive energy.

In addition to their lottery pick, the team will boast newly signed head coach, Luke Walton, roughly $60 million in salary cap space and a core of young players who are primed to show signs of development this upcoming season.

Naturally, who the team should draft with their number two overall pick will be a major talking point for the next month leading into draft night, June 23.

Though it is ultimately up to the Philadelphia 76ers to decide which of the two players (Brandon Ingram of Duke or Ben Simmons of LSU) will be taken first and accordingly be available to be drafted second, it is nonetheless worth discussing whom the Lakers should prefer.

In this post, we will discuss five reasons Brandon Ingram is the ideal fit and further, why he should be drafted by Tinseltown.
