Kobe Bryant offered Draymond Green some sage-like advice on how to deal with the Warriors’ huge loss in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals

Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors are certainly up against the wall right now in the Western Conference Finals in the 2016 NBA Playoffs. After splitting the first two games at home, the Warriors were handled on the road by the Oklahoma City Thunder and now face elimination as they head back to Oakland for Game 5 on Thursday. However, Draymond Green is going to face that tall task with some advice from one of the best: Kobe Bryant.

After the demoralizing loss in Game 4 to the Thunder, Bleacher Report was following Draymond Green for their “Uninterrupted” video series. In doing so, they caught on camera the Warriors forward receiving a text message from Kobe Bryant that offered a bit of advice in typical Kobe fashion.

When it comes to advice, Bryant offered it almost in form of the challenge as he asked Green why he would even bother trying if making history was easy:

"TROPHIESˢᴹ | @Money23Green gets a text from @kobebryant after the @warriors fall behind 3-1 to the Thunder.https://t.co/DIsnNbcrdD— UNINTERRUPTED (@uninterrupted) May 25, 2016"

You can always depend on Kobe to deliver a swift kick in the rear in a crucial moment.

What you have to admire about this exchange, though, is that Green absolutely has the mentality that’s necessary to adequately deal with advice, criticism, and so on from Kobe Bryant. Even the most ardent Kobe fans will admit that Bryant is a harsh, unforgiving type of leader and mentor and that not everyone is wired to handle it. So that Draymond is really speaks well abut the Warriors forward—whether you particularly care for him or not.

Now we’ll see if Kobe’s advice was just in vain or if it actually hits home in a tangible way for Green. If it doesn’t hit home, though, the defending champs who set the record for regular season wins will be watching the NBA Finals at home rather than trying to go back-to-back.
