NBA Free Agency 2016: Romeo Miller Knows Where DeMar DeRozan’s Going
DeMar DeRozan’s longtime friend and former teammate Romeo Miller says he knows where the Raptors guard is going in 2016 NBA free agency
No matter your feelings on the matter, one of the biggest names in 2016 NBA free agency and a player that has been connected to the Los Angeles Lakers on more than one occasion is someone who’s still playing in the NBA Playoffs in Toronto Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan. DeRozan is from Compton, CA, played his college ball at USC, and still has obvious ties to the area. Thus, a move to the Lakers would be looked at as a sort of homecoming.
Given the success that the Raptors have had this season, though, and the fact that they have been pushing the Cleveland Cavaliers further than it surely looked like they ever would, the future of DeMar DeRozan seems less certain than ever. At least one person knows where DeRozan will end up, though: his high school and college teammate in Romeo Miller, a.k.a. Lil Romeo.
TMZ Sports caught up with Miller and specifically asked him about DeRozan and what he knew about the Raptors guard’s plans in free agency. Miller hinted somewhat that there’s a chance he could go to the Lakers, but mostly maintained that he knew what the decision would be and that his pal is the best shooting guard in the NBA:
Who knows how much truth there actually is in what Miller is saying here. However, he clearly has a relationship with DeMar DeRozan and might know just as well as anyone what the guard plans to do when he hits the open market.
That being said, DeRozan is still a divisive figure among many Lakers fans. While his pros are obvious as a high-volume scorer and athlete, there are plenty with concerns that he doesn’t fit on the current Lakers roster and would not be a good addition. Those concerns in addition to those who are only seeing the positives make this all the more complicated of a situation.

Even if Romeo Miller knows what DeMar DeRozan is doing this summer, though, fans and the Lakers front office will have to wait a bit longer—until he’s done playing basketball this year at the very least.
