The latest Draft Express has high school phenom, Thon Maker falling to the Los Angeles Lakers at 32nd overall. Here is his pre-draft workout and interview

Though it has become increasingly more common, it is not everyday that you get a player with not only the height but the skill set and shooting ability that Lakers’ draft prospect, Thon Maker has.

Standing 7 foot tall with about a 7-foot-3 wingspan, Maker has the ability to handle the ball and stroke the outside shot, which would make him the prototypical stretch-5 that teams will assuredly begin to covet in the coming years.

Known for his high school mix tapes in which he dominated his competition, in his latest interview video with Draft Express, casual fans and scouts alike were able to see a side of Maker they don’t normally get to see in his highlight videos.

In compilations that feature Maker batting balls away with ease and fluidly dunking on the competition, his pre-draft workout instead focused on his ability to shoot the ball consistently, something he claims is a priority going into individual workouts.

Draft Express may have Maker currently pegged to fall to the Lakers at number 32 overall, but the fact that he supposedly has workouts with around 10 teams doesn’t seem to bode well for the Purple and Gold. This becomes increasingly true when you consider that the Boston Celtics have around eight picks that they could use to gamble with on Maker.

The Lakers number one priority is obviously getting it right at the top, either selecting Ben Simmons or Brandon Ingram, but the late picks are where they’ve made their money as of late.
