Ranking the top 100 prospects in the 2016 NBA Draft and looking at which players could be targeted by the Los Angeles Lakers

We’re just over two weeks away from the 2016 NBA Draft and everyone is in a frenzy. There is so much that still feels like has yet to happen, so much yet to be decided, and so many parts that are still moving. That’s the case for the Los Angeles Lakers and it’s the case for the NBA Draft as a whole right now.

When you look at the talent-pool in this draft, there are a few things that stand out. For one, the Lakers and the Philadelphia 76ers are going to split the two best prospects in some manner as Ben Simmons and Brandon Ingram are likely to be superstars. While they may be alone on that tier, there is a breadth of talent after them that could develop into high-quality role players in the NBA.

Not just in the lottery, but throughout much of the players likely to be drafted, there are players that could seemingly make some sort of contribution to an NBA team sooner rather than later. There are even a number of players not even projected to be drafted that would fit in that category as well.

Looking at the entire landscape for NBA Draft eligible players and players hoping to be selected, it’s interesting to see what’s out there, who the Lakers should have an eye on, and how these hopefuls stack up against one another. So that’s what we’re going to do.

We’ve ranked the top-100 prospects for the 2016 NBA Draft and looked at their potential futures and even addressed those that the Lakers should be watching. Without any further delay, here are those top-100 draft prospects.
