1. Star Power

As we’ve covered before when talking about the Lakers and their future, they are a unique organization in many, many ways. However, one of the chief ways that they stand out from the other 29 teams in the NBA is their need for star power. When you look back at the illustrious history of the Lakers, each great era is defined by the star standing in the spotlight to the point where it’s basically a necessity that the Lakers have that star.

With the potential of Kevin Love coming home to where he played college ball and where he’s expressed before that he’d like to be—in addition to, you know, being talented—Love could undoubtedly be that star for the Lakers to help lead this young core into the newest era.
