Despite being a partial owner of the Memphis Grizzlies, sometimes even sitting courtside and recording the games for ESPN, Justin Timberlake has been a proud Kobe fan for as long as I can remember.
The best memory of Kobe and Timberlake that comes to mind is in Game 7 of the 2012 Playoffs against the Denver Nuggets. After knocking down a clutch three to put the Lakers up eight with under a minute to go, Timberlake congratulates Kobe with a good ol’ fashion butt tap as he runs back down the court.
Even with a third baby on the way, Kobe Bryant has stayed extremely busy in retirement, starring in commercials, touring in Italy and now even presenting awards to his longtime friends.
His short animated film, “Dear Basketball,” which features famed Disney animator, Gary Keane, and composer, John Williams, is supposed to release sometime this summer, so we will be sure to keep you updated on everything on that front.
Seeing how Timberlake is an avid golfer, it seems to be only a matter of time until we see the ultra-competitive, newly bearded Mamba hit the links with his “muse,” and perhaps even Michael Jordan will join them.

But for now, can we just sit back and enjoy Kobe Bryant actually embracing life after basketball because he definitely deserves to do just that.
