With season now under three months away, the NBA has once again done its annual “NBA Rook” photo shoot and the Los Angeles Lakers were well represented
After an impressive Summer League showing, the Lakers were again pleasantly surprised by their second round pick, with Ivica Zubac showing early that he may just be the steal of the draft.
Similar to Jordan Clarkson, Larry Nance Jr and to a much lesser extent, Anthony Brown, as of late the team has done a great job scouting late round talent who show promise and fit directly into the young core.
Further, benefiting from tempered expectations, seeing that they don’t have the added pressure of being a lottery pick, each of these young players has, for the most part, made the most of their opportunities.

Per usual, the NBA put on their annual Rookie Photo Shoot, now sponsored by Panini America, at Madison Square Garden and the Lakers were well represented among the rookie class.
During Summer League, there were talks about the coaching staff wanting to see Ivica Zubac extend his range out to the three point line, and his recent trick shot should affirm their decision rather quickly. Hitting a smooth hook shot three from the short corner, Zubac continues to surprise fans every time a new clip hits the internet.

Second overall pick, Brandon Ingram also joined in on the action, showing off his back to the basket shot from the top of the key.
Ingram also hopped on the NBA’s Snapchat account taking a picture of him wearing shades with the caption “Hollywood” floating next to his head.

It is great to see the two rookies finding some enjoyment in what must be a hectic rookie offseason, bonding with each other and their peers at this event.

Our hopes lie in the fact that this Ingram-Zubac connection translates to the court come October.
