The NBA 2K17 player ratings for D’Angelo Russell, Jordan Clarkson, Julius Randle, and Larry Nance Jr. are out
There are many reasons that people look forward to the release of video games. However, there are even more reasons that basketball fans and Lakers fans have been anticipating the release of NBA 2K17. Not only are you talking about a proven series of games, but there’s more. There’s also the improved gameplay and story. Moreover, fans also wait patiently to see what the player ratings are for their favorite players.
We’ve now reached the time when players have been revealing their NBA 2K17 player ratings. As part of the 2K Sports marketing genius, they’ve sent various players “cards” on social media that have been shared. These cards have featured not only screenshots of the players from 2K17, but also their player ratings.
Among the numerous players throughout the league that have released their ratings. There are several members of the Los Angeles Lakers among them. In fact, it’s actually the four players that comprised the basis of what fans called the “young core” last season.
The first to reveal his rating was the always polarizing D’Angelo Russell, who was given a 79:
A couple days later brought the other three members of the Lakers “young core.” First was the high-flying Larry Nance Jr. at a 75:
Then Jordan Clarkson followed closely with a 77:
And finally, Julius Randle found himself also being rated at a 77:
First off, all of the screenshots look absolutely incredible. At this point, that should never be a worry when it comes to the 2K Sports annual release. However, there are some curiosities with the ratings.
Perhaps the most egregious is Russell being assessed at a 79 while Clarkson and Randle are rated two points lower. Even if you think the point guard is the best of the trio, it shouldn’t be by that wide of a margin. Other than that, though, these ratings with the room for improvement feel about right for the young Lakers.

In addition to the rest of the roster, the next big reveals will of course be those of rookies Brandon Ingram and Ivica Zubac. Considering that No. 1 overall pick from 2016 in Ben Simmons was rated at 79, Ingram likely won’t be far behind. Zubac, of course, will be a 99 and nothing else is remotely acceptable.
