Lakers: Kobe Bryant Congratulates Shaq on Hall of Fame Induction

It may have taken a while, but Kobe Bryant has finally congratulated former Lakers’ teammate, Shaquille O’Neal for being inducted into the Hall of Fame

Judging by Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant‘s embrace at the latter’s final Lakers’ game, you would be under the impression that the two had finally completely squashed their beef.

Add this to the fact that Shaq has been showering not only his former franchise, but more so, Kobe himself with approbation recently and the case grows even stronger that they might actually be friends.

However, even after saying that he believes that the Black Mamba has been the best player since Michael Jordan himself, Shaq’s revelation that Kobe had yet to congratulate him on his Hall of Fame induction was rather shocking.

Hilariously, Oram also included this photo in between his text Tweets.

That said, only hours after these were posted, Kobe responded by posting an Instagram picture paying homage to his former teammate.

Calling Shaq his “big brother” and the “most dominant big of all time,” although Bryant has been extremely busy in retirement, it could be that he was waiting for Friday to post this up, but was forced to show his cards early on account of Oram’s question and subsequent Tweet.

This is to say, it seems extremely unlikely that Kobe Bryant would miss an opportunity to support the man who helped him win three straight championships, especially after how the Big Diesel cheered him on during his last game.

Friends or not, it is great to see that Shaq and Kobe are willing to put aside whatever issues they had with each other on court, and appreciate the time they shared together.

That said, I cannot wait for the ESPN 30-for-30 special that is absolutely in the works. Judging by how much insight they were able to gain when creating “This Magic Moment,” I can only imagine how good “Kobe to Shaq” will be.
