Lakers Media Day: Brandon Ingram and Company Excited to Play Under Luke Walton
By Corban Ford
Media day has finally wrapped up for the Los Angeles Lakers and it was one of the most exciting ones in years
Monday was the first day the Lakers all suited up together under one roof. Additionally, new head coach Luke Walton was heard from aplenty on Monday.
That said, one thing that has become apparent relatively early is how his new team adores him. Many of the players that were interviewed during Media Day raved about their new leader.

D’Angelo Russell even made the far fetched claim of playing as him in NBA 2K growing up.
Regardless, it appears that Walton has successfully commanded the respect of the locker room something Byron Scott struggled to do all last year.
Brandon Ingram on Coach Walton
Brandon Ingram was one of those singing Walton’s praises.
Per Silver Screen and Roll’s Harrison Faigen, when talking about his new coach he said, “Luke, he’s a great coach…He’s a great guy, he works hard. He actually gets in on some of our drills”.
With eight players on the roster under the age of 24, having a coach who warrants respect is absolutely essential to their success going forward. To have both Russell and Ingram lend their support this early is a great step in the right direction.
For every NBA team, Media Day is the end of the long offseason and signals the countdown the regular year.
In contrast to last season, there appears to be some real energy within the members of the Purple and Gold. Hopefully, these signs of camaraderie will develop into a strong bond over the course of the year,
