Los Angeles Lakers’ power forward, Larry Nance Jr had some great news for fans during Monday’s exciting Media Day

Starting off the interview with the question many Lakers’ fans have been waiting to have answered since Summer League, Chris McGee and James Worthy first question to Larry Nance Jr was about his health.

Falling in the final game in Las Vegas, Nance Jr was initially diagnosed with a broken wrist, which was later downgraded to a severe sprain. However, when asked how he is doing health wise he quickly answered “I’m 100 percent.”

When prodded a little further, he also revealed that he hasn’t had any set backs or restrictions place on him which is even more great news for the organization who has been plagued with injuries over the past few seasons.

Referring to Nance as a “savvy veteran,” despite only playing one year in the league, Worthy went on to ask what the second year man’s expectations are for the team and individually.

"I think the main thing for me, in terms of expectations, would just be, you know, we need to play for each other. That’s easier said than done, because this is a whole new culture, a whole new team. But I think for me, it’s always been, if I get two points, it’s fine. If I get the assist for it, it’s fine. If I just set the screen, it’s fine. And I think if we can all adopt that kind of selfless basketball, that’s at least goal number one for me and I think it is for everybody."

In terms of individual expectations, Nance said:

"Individually I would like to take the next step. Got a good start last year but I’d like to keep improving and developing and get to show off some of the skill set I worked on this summer."

In the brief interviews that the Lakers’ core has been a part of the overarching theme has been “selfless basketball,” as it seems to be at the top of Coach Luke Walton’s priority list. But as we all know, actions speak louder than words, so hopefully the team can walk the walk come season.
