Fresh off of their win over the Golden State Warriors, the Lakers have a chance to win three in a row.
How about them Lakers, folks? After a rough road trip, the Lakers headed back to STAPLES Center and took care of business against the Golden State Warriors.
They now have a chance to do something they haven’t done in years, which is play above .500 basketball through seven games. The last time the Lakers were 4-3 was in the 2011-12 season under former head coach Mike Brown, with a roster consisting of Derek Fisher, Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum. Oh how time flies.
The Lakers are undefeated at home this season, and have a good chance to stay unbeaten with the Phoenix Suns visiting sunny Southern California. While they’re only 2-4 on the season, the Suns are on a little winning streak of their own after, beating the Portland Trailblazers and the New Orleans Pelicans.
With a days rest, both of these young teams will look to extend their respective winning streaks to three.

Just because the Lakers should win this game, that doesn’t guarantee that they will. One of the many wonderful thing about the NBA is that any team can win on any given night.
The Lakers are coming off of a blowout, 20-point win over one of the best teams in the league, while the Suns just scraped past a struggling Pelicans squad in overtime.
Unfortunately, the Purple and Gold will be without their flashy “Showtime” jerseys tonight, but if they play the way they did against a terrifying Golden State team, they should handle Phoenix no problem.
The key to winning this game for the Lakers will be containing the Suns’ back court depth. Not only do they have three starting-caliber guards in Eric Bledsoe, Brandon Knight and Devin Booker, but they also added veteran shooter Leandro Barbosa.
But with Nick Young’s Defensive Player of the Year campaign off to a great start, the Lakers should come away with the win.
