Coming off a disappointing end to their three game road trip, the Los Angeles Lakers return home to take on the undermanned Brooklyn Nets
Through 11 games, the Lakers are 6-5 which would be good enough for the eighth seed were the playoffs to start today. To put that into perspective, last season LA didn’t notch their sixth win until their 33rd game on December 30, ironically against their rival Boston Celtics.
The Purple and Gold are not only winning games are a higher rate, but they’re playing a brand of basketball that fans have been desperate to see ever since the collapse of the Kobe Bryant-Pau Gasol era. Sure, they may not be playing the same type of basketball, but you can’t argue with the results.

Tuesday, LA has a chance to get back to their winning ways against a Brooklyn Nets team who was projected to have the worst season in the Association, trailed closely by none other than the Los Angeles Lakers. However, based on their current starts — 4-6 and 6-5 respectively — both clubs look on pace to surpass expectations, albeit low ones.
Both teams rank among the bottom 10 defenses so expect a high scoring affair similar to opening night against James Harden and the Houston Rockets. Sadly, Jeremy Lin won’t get to make his triumphant return to LA donning a Nets uniform as he is still out with a lingering hamstring injury.
