Magic Johnson is running the show in Los Angeles once again, except this time from the front office. In a shocking chain of events the Lakers have fired GM Mitch Kupchak and relieved Jim Buss of his duties.

News broke Tuesday morning that the organization has essentially moved on from the Jim Buss era. Buss made a promise back in 2014 saying if he didn’t have the Lakers competitive again within three years he would quit, and it seems Jeanie is holding him to his word.

The move has come as a shock for many Laker fans because many feel Mitch has done a good job choosing young talent in the draft as well as building championship teams. Don’t forget he was the one who got Pau Gasol to come to Los Angeles for a bag of Doritos.

The power struggle for Jeanie and her brother Jim has become more and more evident throughout the season especially when Jeanie hired Magic Johnson to be an advisor to basketball operations.

Magic said a short time after being hired as an advisor that he wanted todo more than just advise Jim Buss, he wanted be the guy who had the final say and he got his wish.

To make matters worse the Lakers also fired their Head of PR John Black when they probably needed him the most. Now according to reports their PR people are lost and confused.
