According to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical, the Los Angeles Lakers have traded Marcelo Huertas to the Houston Rockets for Tyler Ennis.
It is a sad day in Los Angeles. The Lakers have decided to move on from 33-year-old Marcelo Huertas minutes before the NBA trade deadline, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of the Vertical:
Huertas came to the Lakers during a dark time for in Los Angeles and brought joy to a team that desperately needed it with his flashy passes and his not-so-flashy passes. His presence will be sorely missed in the locker room.

The Lakers got 22-year-old point guard Tyler Ennis in this deal, but have already indicated they have no intention of keeping him around past this season. LA declined Ennis’ player option for the 2017-18 season. However, there is still reason to believe Ennis can salvage his basketball career with the Purple and Gold. Selected with the No. 18 pick in the 2014 draft, Ennis has bounced around the league quite a bit already.
Selected with the No. 18 pick in the 2014 draft, Ennis has bounced around the league quite a bit already, playing for the Bucks and the Rockets. He’ll have a chance to earn playing time on a team with very little guard depth.
But no one is banking on Ennis breaking out and having a career-year in Los Angeles. If anything, the Lakers got a young player on an expiring contract for an older player on an expiring contract. The Rockets don’t plan on keeping Huertas.
