In the Lakers last game against the highly competitive Charlotte Hornets, we might have gotten a sneak peek into the teams future.

D’Angelo Russell and Julius Randle had huge games against the Hornets and although the team did lose the future is looking bright.

Russell finished with 23 points and nine assists in a game where we finally saw him playing big minutes much to Laker fans delight. With more minutes and an increased role with the team, there’s no reason Russell won’t continue to put up good numbers.

Randle also had a big game adding another 23 points 18 rebounds and six assists. Those 18 rebounds really pop off the page but Randle can be a great rebounder. He just needs to do it on a consistent basis. Obviously, he won’t be grabbing 18 a night but he’s able to grab 10 a night. If he’s not I think it shows that he isn’t fully locked in.

The bigger surprise was his point production as Randle has been struggling as late. Randle also had a crazy efficient night as he shot 71 percent from the field!

The one guy who didn’t play as great was the rook, Brandon Ingram. Ingram finished with eight points five rebounds and three assists, doing a little of everything.

On the bright side, Ingram was coming off of a career-high 22 points against the Spurs. In this game, the rookie was able to add another poster to his growing collection.

Even without Ingram playing very well right now the Lakers future looks bright. If Russell and Randle could keep up this level of play there’s no way they’re not future all stars.
