Recently on Jimmy Kimmel’s show, Chicago Bulls star Jimmy Butler discussed the possibility of joining the Los Angeles Lakers. What did he have to say?

The Los Angeles Lakers will be one of the most interesting teams to keep an eye on this offseason. With some cap space and the second overall pick, the Lakers are poised to improve this offseason. Whether they use the second overall pick or trade it, the Lakers should be getting a franchise player.

While many people believe it will be Lonzo Ball joining the Lakers this offseason, the possibility of them trading the pick is always there. If the Lakers did decide to move the pick, they would surely be getting a star in return. One of the players that many people have fantasized about joining the Lakers is Chicago Bulls star, Jimmy Butler.

As one of the best two-way players in the NBA, Butler is certainly a star in the league. Recently, Butler’s name has been mentioned in rumors and speculation with the Bulls taking a step back the past few years.

On Jimmy Kimmel Live, Butler shot down the possibility of him coming to the Lakers. Here is his funny back-and-forth with Kimmel.

As a Lakers fan, Kimmel would obviously like to see Butler in purple and gold. Last season, Butler was named to his third straight All-Star team, and he had his best season yet. Butler was able to average 23.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 1.9 steals per game.

Next: Who do the Lakers land in our complete first round mock draft?

After just recently signing an extension, Butler won’t be a free agent until after the 2018-19 season. As a team that is rebuilding now, trading the sun and the stars for Butler doesn’t make much sense. While he is happy in Chicago now, things could change in a few seasons when he can become a free agent.
