Since retiring, we have seen a much lighter side of Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant. Recently, he roasted Jalen Rose in a hilarious commercial.

As one of the greatest players of all-time, Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant has only been away from the game for one year. So far, he has been staying busy, as his adjustment to his post-basketball life seems to be going smoothly.

However, Bryant certainly left NBA fans with plenty of memories. While most will remember him winning championships, one of his greatest achievements was in 2006 against the Toronto Raptors. In that regular season game, Bryant scored 81 points. Aside from Wilt Chamberlain, nobody has scored more points in a game.

On that day, Jalen Rose was tasked with guarding Bryant for a good part of the game. As a very good NBA player, Rose was just roasted by the Black Mamba on that day. Despite Bryant clearly being in the zone that day, the Raptors famously never sent double teams to help. Even though Bryant might have still scored even if double-teamed, it likely would have resulted in him at least passing the ball away a few more times. Recently, ESPN produced a hilarious commercial of the two.

As you can see, Bryant jokes about dropping 81 points on Rose when the waiter asks how many olives he would like in his vodka martini. With a stare at Rose, Bryant says “81” after the long pause, Bryant bursts into laughter and says just two.

This is certainly a funny ad, and good for Rose for being a good sport about it. As a good player in his own right, Rose surely doesn’t like being associated with Bryant dropping 81 points on him. However, the interaction between the two in the commercial is hilarious.
