With the NBA Finals all but over, recent Los Angeles Lakers rumors have emerged about the possibility of LeBron James considering L.A.

Over the past few weeks, there have been plenty of Lakers rumors about what their plan in for the NBA Draft and free agency. While the Lakers are going through the pre-workout process, they certainly have their eye toward the future.

While they might not be willing to spend money in free agency this offseason, the Lakers might really have their eye on the 2018 offseason. According to Kevin O’Connor of the Ringer, James might consider leaving Cleveland for the second time to go to the warm weather of California. Here’s what O’Connor had to say.

"Multiple league sources I’ve spoken to think the Lakers or Clippers are viable destinations for King James. Jalen Rose said this week on First Take that he expects LeBron to make a move from Cleveland to California, where he already owns a house 30 minutes away from Staples Center. The Lakers make sense if LeBron wants to build a sustainable winner with a core blend of veterans and youthful talent like Paul George — if, as NBA gossip suggests, George truly is “hell-bent” on going to L.A. — and Brandon Ingram. The Clippers make sense if LeBron wants to form a Banana Boat Voltron with Chris Paul, Dwyane Wade, and Carmelo Anthony."

After winning a title for his hometown, seeing James leave wouldn’t be nearly as surprising as the last time. He was able to deliver on his promise in the 2015-16 season, and now might be looking to move on.

Since James owns a house near the Staples Center, this certainly makes the Lakers and Clippers contenders to land him if he left. With some young talent coming in and cap space, the Lakers are actually becoming a desirable destination once again for free agents.

Seeing how well James has played in the NBA Finals only to see his team trailing 3-0 in the series has to be frustrating for him. While Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love are both good players, they can’t seem to play well at the same time against the Warriors. It will be interesting to see what happens, however, James leaving Cleveland once again is certainly a possibility.
