South Carolina Shooting Guard, Sindarius Thornwell

Thornwell was the breakout star of the NCAA postseason. He helped lead South Carolina to the Final Four despite entering the NCAA Tournament as a 10 seed. Thornwell was great for the Gamecocks all season and was able to display that on the national stage come March.

Thornwell stuffed the stat sheet for South Carolina throughout his senior season. He averaged 21.4 points on 44.4 percent shooting, making 39.2 percent from deep and 83 percent from the foul line. Thornwell also added 7.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.0 blocks, and 2.1 steals per game. You cannot ask for much more production than that from a player, as Thornwell took home SEC Player of the Year honors.

Thornwell was solid his first three seasons at South Carolina, but not to the level he performed at his senior season. At 22-years old he is a little older than teams like, but he has a lot of attributes to like. He is a tough player with the potential to perform on both ends of the court.

On the Lakers, he would be an excellent bench piece. He has shown an ability to run an offense and can score the ball. His defensive performance is good, as he has a high floor. If he has strong workouts, he could push himself into the end of the first round. He has some ground to make up, but he has shown that he is a competitor and should relish the competition during these workouts.
