Lakers Rumors: Lonzo Ball did not seal the deal with his workout

Recent Los Angeles Lakers rumors have been surrounding UCLA point guard Lonzo Ball. Did he impress the team at a recent workout?

With the NBA Draft getting closer and closer, Lakers rumors are heating up. With the second overall pick, the Lakers are poised to get a great player in a loaded draft.

For many months now, we have heard Lonzo Ball being the most likely choice for the Lakers. With Markelle Fultz likely going first overall, Ball should be there when the Lakers are on the clock.

Recently, Ball worked out for the Lakers. According to Kevin Ding of Bleacher Report, Ball didn’t blow the Lakers out of the water with his workout. Here’s what Ding had to say.

"Lonzo Ball was fine.He was humble and respectful in conversation over meals.He shot the ball well on the court.He very well might be the Los Angeles Lakers’ draft pick in two weeks’ time.Yet Ball also didn’t blow the Lakers away or seal any deal in the time he spent with their officials Tuesday and Wednesday, according to sources."

Seeing that Ball didn’t blow the Lakers away should not come as too much of a surprise. As a traditional point guard, Ball’s skills are best shown in game action compared to just doing shooting drills.

The one positive sign was that Ball did shoot the ball well. Even though he was a pretty good shooter in college, he strange jump shot has raised a few questions coming into the NBA. In addition to him shooting well, it was also good to see that Ball appeared to be humble and respectable according to Ding.

His character was certainly something that the Lakers wanted to see with him in their meetings, and it seemed to go well. Now, the Lakers will continue with their pre-draft process. Even though Ball didn’t seal the deal, he also didn’t do anything to hurt his draft stock.
