Lakers Rumors: Team is hopeful bring in Markelle Fultz for workout or meeting

Recent Los Angeles Lakers rumors have been about what they will be attempting to do in the NBA Draft. Will they be able to get Markelle Fultz in for a workout or meeting?

With the offseason nearly here, there have been plenty of Lakers rumors about what the plan will be for the NBA Draft. In what should be a great draft class, the Lakers are poised to land a potential franchise player with the second overall pick.

However, they will have to monitor what the Boston Celtics are doing in front of them in the draft. The rivalry might not be as good as it once was, but these two teams will dictate how the NBA Draft will play out.

Coming into the draft, the No.1 prospect is Washington point guard Markelle Fultz. Despite being on an awful Washington team last season, Fultz was able to showcase what he could do.

So far, Fultz has only worked out for the Celtics, who are many people’s pick to take Fultz with the first overall pick. However, as a point guard, Fultz doesn’t necessarily fit with Isiah Thomas still on the team. Even though it seems unlikely, the Celtics could always pursue and alternative option to Fultz.

If something strange does happen and Fultz is on the board, the Lakers are hopeful to get him in for a meeting or workout. So far they have had just a meeting at the NBA combine. However, according to Mike Bresnahan, the Lakers are hopeful to meet with him next week.

It will be interesting to see if the Lakers can get a workout from Fultz. If he decides to only workout for the Celtics, the writing could be on the wall.

As of now, the Lakers will continue to decide between the combination of Lonzo Ball, Josh Jackson, and De’Aaron Fix it appears. Unless something shocking happens, it would be surprising to see Fultz available when the Lakers are on the clock.
