Los Angeles Lakers draft prospect Lonzo Ball was featured in Foot Locker’s newest commercial with fellow prospects De’Aaron Fox, Jayson Tatum, and Jonathan Isaac.

The Los Angeles Lakers will have a tough decision on June 22nd. They own the second overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. That selection can help the Lakers push their rebuild forward as there are a number of great prospects in this year’s draft class.

One of the potential stars in this year’s draft is UCLA point guard, Lonzo Ball. Ball has a lot of qualities that NBA teams like. He has great size for a point guard, standing 6-feet-6 inches tall. That size enables him to see the court well, as he is an elite playmaker and distributor. His handles are also at an excellent level.

Ball has the ability to play in any offensive scheme. He has the skill set to be a leader on the court. He already excels in the open court and should find success in the half-court as well once he hones his skills.

While his jump shot form is unsightly, it gets the job done. Ball made 41.2 percent of his three-pointers at UCLA and has range on his jump shot.

His shooting mechanics are one of the knocks against him heading into the NBA. Will it work against bigger, quicker opponents in the NBA as it did in college? His size makes it difficult to contest his shot. But, the biggest knock against Ball has nothing to do with basketball on the court.

The biggest knock against Ball heading into the draft is his father, LaVar. LaVar Ball has become more of a headline grabber than his son. He has spewed outlandish things, such as him being able to beat Michael Jordan in a game of one-on-one. LaVar has made a number of appearances on television and radio and provides a soundbite each time.

His antics have caused some teams to pause about selecting Lonzo. Despite all the great things Ball does on the court, his father always looms large. That is what makes Foot Locker’s most recent commercial that much funnier.

Foot Locker released their newest commercial featuring some top-10 rated draft prospects. Ball is featured in the commercial along with Kentucky point guard De’Aaron Fox, Florida State power forward Jonathan Isaac, and Duke small forward Jayson Tatum.

The commercial was titled, ‘Father’s Day’. You can guess what that means for Ball. While the other players discuss all the father-son activities they did growing up, Ball has a different story to tell.
