The 2017 NBA Draft will be on Thursday, June 22nd. Here is all the information you’ll need to see what the Los Angeles Lakers do with their picks.

Coming into the 2017 NBA Draft, the Los Angeles Lakers are one of the teams to watch. Prior to the draft, the Lakers have already made one trade that has shaken up the draft order.

In what was a bit of a surprise, the Lakers traded point guard D’Angelo Russell and center Timofey Mozgov to the Brooklyn Nets for Brook Lopez and the 27th overall pick in the draft. This move has caused quite a stir in Los Angeles, however, there are certainly some things to like about the deal.

Getting rid of Mozgov’s awful contract was important for Los Angeles. Also, Lopez is a really good center and the 27th overall pick certainly has value. Adding the extra first round pick has also helped increase the Lakers’ chances of trading for Paul George prior to the draft.

George recently stated that he will be leaving Indiana when his contract expires, and the team is trying to trade him to get some assets in return. George prefers to play for the Lakers when he hits free agency after next season, and this has resulted in teams being wary about trading for him.

Seeing what happens with George will certainly be one of the biggest storylines to follow during the draft. Here is all the information you’ll need to enjoy the event!

Trading Russell likely clears the way for the Lakers to select Lonzo Ball with the second overall pick. While we all expect Ball to be selected with the second overall pick, we know for sure that Markelle Fultz will be going first after the Philadelphia 76ers acquired the pick from the Boston Celtics.

After that, let the fun of the NBA Draft begin! If the lead-up to the draft has been any indication, we are in store for a wild night.
