Here are five under the radar veteran players the Los Angeles Lakers should consider signing this offseason.

The most exciting time of year for Los Angeles Lakers and NBA basketball fans is upon us. NBA Free agency is just a few days away. Every Laker fan knows the summer of 2018 will be critical for the organization.

President of basketball operations, Magic Johnson, and general manager Rob Pelinka have made it clear they want to have as much cap space as possible to lure one or two big name players to Hollywood.

Paul George will most certainly be one of those all-star players coming to LA, but who else will be on the way to Laker town?

Could it be Klay Thompson, DeMarcus Cousins, or even LeBron James? With next offseason being the most critical time for this franchise in some years, the Lakers need to focus on acquiring veteran players on short-term deals this offseason.

I have my eye on five players that could help this team immediately on 1-year contracts. Warning: none of these players will jump off the screen, or get anyone too excited, but would surely be quality additions. Not only will these players help lead and guide the young players on the roster, but they will clear cap space and be off the books next summer as well.

The biggest needs for the Lakers are perimeter shooting along with defense; some three-and-D players would be perfect. Let’s take a look at five players that the Lakers should seriously consider bringing in for next season.
