One of the surprising things during the 2017 NBA Draft was seeing Joel Embiid taking some shots at Los Angeles Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball on Twitter.

While it wasn’t too much of surprise to see the Los Angeles Lakers draft UCLA point guard Lonzo Ball, it was surprising to see him be attacked on Twitter.

Shortly after Ball was drafted, Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid tweeted to Ben Simmons that he hopes he dunks on Ball next season and make his daddy run on the court to save him.

Even though it took a little while, LaVar Ball did finally respond to Embiid and the 76ers.

"“When you don’t win and don’t even make the playoffs and don’t even stay on the court long enough, that’s the best thing you can do is Tweet, make some stuff,” Ball said during an interview, via Liberty Ballers. “Ain’t nobody else doing that, because they’re working on their game in the gym. These guys ain’t played a game, always hurt, and at the bottom of the totem pole. So guess what, get your a**es off the goddamn Tweeter, and get in the gym.”"

While Lonzo has been quiet about the tweet, it should come as no surprise to see LaVar Ball have something to say about the matter. While there are no reports about Lonzo ever doing anything to Embiid or Simmons, they decided to take some shots at the young guard.

Lonzo is no stranger to being in the spotlight with his outspoken father, and these tweets clearly didn’t have any affect on him. LaVar did get some good shots in on Embiid, as he notes that he is always hurt and shouldn’t be talking without doing much on the court to back it up.

With a little war of the words between the two parties, the first game the 76ers and Lakers play might have a little more juice. With a lot of young talent on both teams, there could be a bit of a rivalry brewing.
