Los Angeles Lakers: Main Summer League focus points
A brief take on a few things to look out for during the Los Angeles Lakers Summer League campaign, based on their performance in the regular season.
With the Las Vegas Summer League fast approaching, Los Angeles Lakers fans will soon get another opportunity to see the plethora of young talent the organization has amassed over the past few seasons.
Some of this young talent consists of players that were not only part of the Summer League in years prior, but have become part of the Lakers roster during the regular season, such as Brandon Ingram, Ivica Zubac, and David Nwaba.
Furthermore, this year’s Summer League also provides fans with the opportunity to get a glimpse of newly acquired prospects such as the 2nd overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft Lonzo Ball, as well as the likes of Kyle Kuzma, Josh Hart, and Thomas Bryant.
Thus, with all the excitement surrounding these players, it stands to reason that much of the focus will be placed towards each player’s individual performances rather than their overall performance as a team.
This said, the squad’s ability to build chemistry and play together as one cohesive unit will be crucial; a number of these athletes will likely find themselves playing together once the 2017-2018 NBA season begins.
As such, it is of utmost importance to pay close attention to how these young men are able to perform as a group as well as individually.
This will provide some valuable insight as to how the squad may be able to improve upon the team’s lackluster performance this past year.
In order to gauge the potential improvement that this group of players may provide, it is useful to assess their performance in several key areas.
