Los Angeles Lakers: 3 Players to watch against Cleveland Cavaliers
By Nick Ziegler
After a thrilling win against the Philadelphia 76ers, the Los Angeles Lakers will now be facing the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday night. Here are three players to watch.
The Summer League might not have started out well for the Los Angeles Lakers, but they have turned it on in their past two games. With some injuries certainly hurting the team, the Lakers have been able to win two straight games.
Without Lonzo Ball against the Sacramento Kings, the Lakers were able to get their first Summer League win. Thanks to a big performance by Alex Caruso, the Lakers were able to survive without Ball and also Kyle Kuzma against the Kings.
In their most recent win against the 76ers, Ball and Kuzma both returned to the lineup. With their top rookies back in action, the Lakers were able to pull off a come-from-behind win against the 76ers to advance to the Round of 16.
In the Round of 16, the Lakers will be facing off against the No.2 seeded Cleveland Cavaliers. Despite not having any top picks on their Summer League squad, the Cavaliers have played well up until this point. With a balanced attack, the Cavaliers have been able to win all three games so far in the Las Vegas Summer League.
Coming into the tournament, the Lakers were one of the favorites to win it all. Even though they are without Brandon Ingram, they still have a lot of talent on the team. If Ball can play like he did against the 76ers, the Lakers can certainly win it all still.
