Los Angeles Lakers: 3 Takeaways from win vs. Cleveland Cavaliers
By Nick Ziegler
Lakers can score
One of the biggest takeaways from the games so far this summer has been that the Lakers have a pretty good offense. Even though the shooting hasn’t been great, the Lakers have a quick pace, and that is resulting in a lot of points.
A large part of the success for the Lakers’ offense has been Lonzo Ball. After misses, Ball has done an excellent job pushing the pace, and this has resulted in a lot of easy baskets for his teammates.
In the win against the Cavaliers, the Lakers were able to score 94 points, and their offense has looked a lot better than most in Summer League action. It was a pretty balanced attack for the Lakers against the Cavaliers. They ended up having four players score in double figures, all of which were starters. However, off the bench, Thomas Bryant provided six points, Travis Wear totaled nine points, and Alex Caruso chipped in with seven.
Considering the Lakers have been scoring so well in 40-minute games, this is certainly an encouraging sign moving forward. Even though most of the players on the Summer League won’t have similar roles in the regular season, the fast pace that Ball has been providing should carry over to the regular season.
