The Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets will face off in the second round of the 2017 Las Vegas Summer League playoffs. Here are five players to watch for in the game.
The Los Angeles Lakers have started picking things up in the Las Vegas Summer League. After starting off 0-2, the Lakers have pulled off three consecutive victories to continue advancing in the postseason tournament.
The Lakers defeated the Sacramento Kings in the final round robin game and then defeated the Philadelphia 76ers in the play-in game. In the first playoff game, the Lakers were able to knock off the No. 2 seed Cleveland Cavaliers. Now they are into the second round and will face off with the No. 7 seed, Brooklyn Nets.
The Nets come into this game with a 3-1 record. The Nets won their first round playoff game against the Denver Nuggets with relative ease, winning 85-74. That was the second consecutive blowout victory for the Nets, who blew out the New Orleans Pelicans 95-66 in their final round robin game.
What makes the Nets a difficult team to play against is that they have a very experienced roster. There are six players on the roster with NBA experience, including regular season rotation players Caris LeVert, Isaiah Whitehead, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, and Spencer Dinwiddie. Archie Goodwin and Prince Ibeh also have NBA experience.
What also makes the Nets peculiar is that head coach Kenny Atkinson is the coach for the summer league team. He wants to see his young players produce, so you know the Nets will bring it.
Brooklyn has a number of players to keep an eye on in addition to the players to watch for on the Lakers. Here are five players to watch when the Lakers and Nets tip-off at the Thomas and Mack Center at 7:00 PM tonight.
