The Los Angeles Lakers look like they have a budding star on their team in Lonzo Ball. With some great games under his belt, others are taking notice.

With the second overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, the Los Angeles Lakers needed to draft a star. With the pick, the Lakers selected point guard, Lonzo Ball. After a tough debut in the Las Vegas Summer League, Ball has been dominating since then.

Coming out of college, most people were well aware of Ball’s ability to set up his teammates with nice passes. In the Summer League, we have seen that great passing on display, as he leads the tournament in assists per game.

Going even deeper into Ball’s passing ability is how well he has done at establishing the pace for the Lakers. One of the key things for a point guard is to be able to set the tone for the game. Ball has been able to a great job at this so far.

In addition to his great passing abilities, he is able to really fill up a stat sheet. With a 36-point performance and two triple-doubles, Ball is starting to receive a lot of attention. One of the people that have been very impressed by Ball is former Laker, Metta World Peace. Recently, World Peace made a bold prediction for Ball and the Lakers.

After missing the playoffs for four straight seasons, the Lakers are hoping that streak is ended soon. With Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka now in charge, the Lakers are hoping to restore the franchise to their glory years.

While it has only been a small sample size in the Summer League, Ball does look very impressive. This offseason, the Lakers have positioned themselves nicely to be able to land two superstars in free agency next season.
