The Los Angeles Lakers recently signed guard Vander Blue after a strong showing in the Summer League. Recently, he took to Twitter to thank the boss.

The Las Vegas Summer League turned out to be a great time for the Los Angeles Lakers. As one of the favorites entering the tournament, they were able to win it despite a slow start.

While all eyes were on Lonzo Ball, the Lakers were a lot more than just him. Ball did play fantastic in the tournament as the Summer League MVP, but other players contributed to the title win.

One of the players that really stood out was guard Vander Blue. As the reigning G-League MVP, Blue is a familiar name to Lakers fans. Despite really performing well in the G-League, Blue has yet to get his shot in the NBA.

With an opportunity to impress in the Summer League, Blue took advantage of the opportunity presented to him. In the Summer League, Blue averaged 15 points per game. While we know that Blue can score from his G-League stats, he also proved to be a good passer and rebounder.

After the strong showing in the Summer League, Blue was rewarded with a contract by the Lakers. Blue’s hard work certainly paid off, and he recently thanked Lakers owner Jeanie Buss for the opportunity.

As of now, the Lakers are moving forward with their young core of talent. Even though they were able to added players like Brook Lopez and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope this offseason, they are still looking more toward the future.

Blue could certainly make this team with an impressive showing in training camp. If he plays like he did in the Summer League, he should make the team. As a guard that can score, Blue could be a valuable weapon off the Lakers’ bench in the future. When training camp rolls around, make sure to keep an eye on the hard-working Blue.
