Los Angeles Lakers: 3 Things to know about Josh Hart
By Nick Ziegler
– Proven winner
This offseason, one of the goals for Magic Johnson has been to change the culture of the Lakers. After a few losing seasons in a row, Magic has made it clear that he wants to build a winning culture. One of the great ways to do that is to draft players that have had success.
The selection of Ball made a lot of sense to change the culture in Los Angeles, and so does the addition of Hart. At Villanova, Hart was part of one of the best college programs in the nation. In four seasons at Villanova, the team made the NCAA Tournament all four years and were able to win at least one game every year. Also, the fewest amount of games that Villanova lost in a season with Hart was 29 in his freshman season.
As Hart’s role increased since his freshman year, the Wildcats have won at least 30 games for three straight seasons. Of course, Hart was also a National Champion in his junior season. As a winner in college, that is what Hart is accustomed to doing. Coming from a great program with a great head coach has certainly prepared Hart for the NBA.
Even though the Lakers might not have a winning record in Hart’s rookie season, he will be one of the players trying to change the Lakers into a winning culture once again.
