NBA 2K18 is starting to release the ratings of players for their upcoming game. What rating did Los Angeles Lakers rookie Kyle Kuzma receive?

The Los Angeles Lakers are coming off a pretty solid offseason in which they were able to have a strong draft. Also they prepared themselves well for a free agency spending spree next offseason.

While drafting point guard Lonzo Ball received most of the attention, the Lakers might have made another great pick late in the first round. With the 27th overall pick that was obtained in the trade with the Brooklyn Nets, the Lakers selected forward Kyle Kuzma.

After a nice career at Utah, Kuzma didn’t come into the Las Vegas Summer League with a lot of expectations. However, it became clear early on that the Lakers might have found themselves a steal.

In the Summer League, Kuzma was one of the best scorers in the tournament. He was able to score from both beyond the three-point arc, and inside of it depending on what the defense gave him.

Coming out of college, Kuzma was projected to be a stretch four for the Lakers. However, on the court, it became clear that he can also play some small forward. With his ability to shoot three-pointers, Kuzma might be a valuable scoring weapon for the Lakers for years to come.

Recently, NBA 2K18 gave Kuzma a rating of a 72 to start the 2017-18 season.

Considering Kuzma was a late first-round pick, the rating of a 72 isn’t bad for him. However, one could argue that his MVP performance in the Summer League Finals should have earned him a couple extra points.

Next: Who are the 30 greatest scorers in Lakers history?

Lonzo Ball was tied with Markelle Fultz with and 80 rating for the highest ratings for a rookie. With a strong rookie season, Kuzma can certainly expect to see that number increase in 2K19.
