2. The Annual Beatdown At Staples

November 29 vs. Golden State Warriors (or December 18 depending on which game they choose)

As I’m sure you all remember, last season the Lakers stomped on the Super Team Warriors at Staples Center on November 4th? Lakers obliterated the reigning Western Conference Champs and newly acquired Kevin Durant by 20 points while never trailing at any moment of the game.

It was very early in the season but it was still very fun to watch and encouraging for all Lakers fans about their young players. After the game, Warriors head coach praised the young Lakers by saying in an interview that “it’s our annual beatdown at Staples [by the Lakers], they do this every year.”

Steve Kerr isn’t wrong. Since moving to Staples Center, the Lakers have never gone a season without beating the Warriors in LA. Pretty impressive when you think about it. If history has told us anything, one of these games will be very exciting because we will get to beat down on the reigning champs like they did on every team they faced last season. Mark your calendars for these games Lakers fans, regardless of how the season goes it is always fun to beat the defending champs.

Quick side notes: In the three games lost at Staples, Steve Kerr’s average margin of loss is 15.6 points. However, his margin of victory in the three wins is 22 points. So it looks like it’s either a blowout win for the Lakers or a blowout loss. Just have to wait and see.
