Lonzo Ball wins rookie of the year

As all Lakers fans know, Ball was selected number two overall in this years draft. With so much pressure and hype surrounding him, he performed well in summer league. Though he struggled with his shooting in Vegas this summer, Ball, with his passing and offensive skill set, will win rookie of the year going away this season. He will beat out the likes of Dennis Smith Jr., D’Aaron Fox, and Markelle Fultz.

Though he struggled with his shooting in Vegas this summer, Ball, with his passing and offensive skill set, will win rookie of the year going away this season. He will beat out the likes of Dennis Smith Jr., D’Aaron Fox, and Markelle Fultz.

With the fast pace offense the Lakers will be running this season, Ball will seemingly get a lot of chances to shoot threes in transition, as well as hit his teammates running the floor for lots of assists.

Even as a rookie, Ball will have the chance to lead the league in assists. He will have an improved Brandon Ingram next to him, along with Brook Lopez, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and Julius Randle among others.

I look for Ball to improve upon his shooting throughout the season slightly and get his field goal percentage close to 43-45 percent by the end the season. Look for Lonzo to have a huge rookie season, with multiple triple doubles. Will he lead the Lakers into contention for the 8th seed in the Western Conference?
