Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball isn’t the only person in his family with a signature shoe, as his younger brother LaMelo had his signature shoe made available for pre-order today.

Los Angeles Lakers rookie point guard Lonzo Ball has taken the basketball world by storm. He was a dominant player at UCLA and continued that dominance during the Las Vegas Summer League. Ball took home MVP honors at the Las Vegas Summer League but turned heads for more reasons than his play on the court.

One thing that became a popular topic was Ball’s footwear. Ball had his first signature shoe, the ZO2, drop in May. Right after the Lakers selected him with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, a Lakers colorway in his shoes dropped.

Ball wore the ZO2 for his Summer League debut, and things didn’t go well. Ball had a rough game wearing his sneakers, but bounced back with a triple-double in game two wearing his shoes again. After that, he changed his shoes consistently.

People began ripping apart the shoes. The price point was already a topic of discussion, and now people ripped into them more after he changed them. It was something that drew a lot of attention, but Ball had an answer for it.

“When you’re a big baller, you can wear whatever you want,” Ball said via TNT’s David Aldridge. Ball killed it when he wore a pair of Nike Kobe A.D. He also did well when wearing a pair of James Harden‘s signature Adidas shoes, the same model he wore while at UCLA.

The discussion will remain about the Big Baller Brand ZO2. However, there is now another Big Baller Brand shoe hitting the market for people to discuss.

Lonzo’s youngest brother, LaMelo Ball, had his own pair of signature shoes become available today for pre-order. LaMelo, who is 16 years old and heading into his junior season at Chino Hills High School, becomes the first high school player to ever have his own pair of signature shoes.

This is something unprecedented, but that has become the norm with anything involving the Ball family. LaMelo’s signature shoes can be pre-ordered through the Big Baller Website for $395, which is $100 less than what Lonzo’s shoes were priced at.

Unlike Lonzo, who is now a part of the NBA, LaMelo could run into some eligibility issues down the road. LaMelo has already verbally committed to following Lonzo and his other brother, LiAngelo, to UCLA. LaMelo is the No. 7 ranked player right now in the Class of 2019.

Until he signs his letter of intent, LaMelo is not under the NCAA’s purview. However, it is something that father LaVar Ball says they will worry about when the time comes.

"“We’ll worry about it when we get there,” Ball told ESPN. “Who cares? If he can’t play, then he can’t play. It doesn’t mean he’ll stop working out and getting better.”“Maybe in two years, they’ll change the rule and he’ll be able to go to the NBA straight out of high school,” LaVar Ball said."

Some people may ask why LaMelo has a pair of shoes when his older brother LiAngelo doesn’t. That is because LiAngelo us enrolled at UCLA, so he cannot endorse the Big Baller Brand without compromising his eligibility. If a shoe had been released using him, he would become ineligible to play at UCLA this season.

LiAngelo won’t have to wait too long for his own shoe. LaVar said that none of his sons will play more than one season in college, so LiAngelo should have his own shoe debut in April once he is no longer held down by NCAA rules and regulations.
